Williams was indicted for "malicious stabbing" on Aug 27, 1873, and was scheduled to appear for trial on Dec. 23, 1873. Defendant's father M.M. Williams posted a security bond promising to deliver defendant for his trial. Defendant did not appear for his trial. State sought payment on the security bond of $1000 for failure of defendant to appear at his trial. M.M. Williams claimed he delivered his son to the sheriff who allowed the defendant to escape. James Coe was the victim. |
