In November of 1861 Parker & Hassell formed a partnership buying and selling sugar and molasses. They later parted ways but failed to legally dissolve the partnership. Parker was indebted to Hassell. They also partnered to buy and sell tobacco. Suit was filed to settle the debt and the partnership. |

J. M. Shute &DroMills operated a firm as Shute & Mills sued Coe for breaking a contract. Coe contracted to purchase 200 sheep weighing at least 50 lbs. However, Coe refused to receive the second lot of sheep, causing great trouble for Shute & Dero in stabling and feeding them in the mean time. They sued to recover costs of housing and shipping. |

Branner, building a dwelling house and large stable located at Mosely Creek in Jefferson County. Branner was to pay Long $2 per day, board him, have his washing done, and pay his train fare every three months. Branner died in 1869 and his widow asked the plaintiff to continue work. Plaintiff is now seeking back payment. |

Jordan was to pay the government tax on the brandy production. Apparently Donegan was not able to produce brandy that was worth drinking. Jordan had already paid the tax amount and sued to recover the money. |
