The plaintiff claimed they were mislead regarding the cost of work with the defendant and renegotiated their contract. However the defendants attempted to recover certain costs and the plaintiff filed this injunction to prevent the recovery of said money. The chancellor awarded the plaintiff $1196.40 and court costs, issuing the injunction against the bill in the circuit court against the plaintiffs. |

Plaintiff wife of Robert B. Hays. Couple married 18 July 1866. Plaintiff's maiden name Gohlson; she is the grand-daughter of John C. McLemore, dec., from whom she inherited real estate. Prior to their marriage plaintiff and her future husband had entered into a contract by which he gave up all of his rights to any property that she already owned or might come to possess in the future. |

File contains three briefs from this case first tried in Monroe County, East Tennessee. Other defendant is Zachary Taylor, part owner of Taylor Bros., a foundry. Plaintiff had invented a type of press and contracted with the Taylors to construct it so it could be displayed at the Rhea County Fair.
