The story is that the plaintiff's blind horse caught its foot in a hole in the bridge and, while trying to extricate itself, fell from the bridge to its death. The commissioners are accused of failure to discharge their duty to keep the roads in safe condition and sued for the loss of the horse. Russey is identified in the transcript as "colored." |
