McClain is the widow of John McClain and has two minor children. She accuses the city fathers of permitting a cannon to be placed and fired within the city limits. The cannon subsequently exploded, driving a large piece of metal through the wall of a grocery store, killing her husband who was standing in the store. She sued for $8,000 damages. |

Breece bought 2 pieces of Hickman County land from T.S. Easley & his wife L.J. Easley, after which Def. Bond became security for a debt T.S. owed & ultimately got a judgment against T.S. for that debt & tried to execute that judgment against this land. Hunter was the sheriff charged with levying against land to satisfy judgments. Breece asked court for injunction to keep Def.. from selling the land. Main issue was whether Breece's deed properly registered. Witnesses: Walker, Thomas, Bates. |

In 1857, the plaintiff and defendant purchased jointly, a tract of land from Michael Bashor for $1,340. The plaintiff paid $400 in cash at the time of purchase and the two parties executed joint notes to Bashor and parties Bashor owed money for the rest. The defendant claimed he paid $187 more than the plaintiff, who was bad with numbers and accepted the claim, signing several notes to equalize their ownership. Later, the plaintiff discovered he was misled and overpaid prompting this suit. |
