Concerns land deeded by plaintiff to defendant 9 Dec. 1865. The case materials relate that Haynes Sr. was indicted for treason at the end of the Civil War. Knowing that most individuals indicted for treason at that time were stripped of their property, his son talked him into deeding his land to him to hold until such time as everything could be settled.
