W.C. Hurt, admr. of A.M. Morgan, dec., sold to Hughes Lots 25, 26 & 28 in Holts Addition to Nashville, fronting Hamilton Street, on which Hughes intended to build "cheap houses," in exchange for 6 notes totaling $1,100. Hurt finished admin. & died. Hughes didn't pay, believing Hurt might not have good title to the lots when he conveyed them. Notes passed to minor heirs & guardians sued. Morgan left widow Sallie H. Morgan (Hurt was Sallie's dad) & children Calvin A., Andrew P., & Sallie F. Morgan. |

Taylor sued for injuries sustained during an accident on the defendants road when he was thrown from a trestle on which he was working. Claims injury was due to defective machinery owned by defendant and known about by supervisors. Taylor originally refused to ride on the trestle, but was ordered to by his superiors and headquarters, who threatened to fire him. Suing for $10,000. |
