The plaintiffs owned a tract of land that they deeded to the defendant in exchange for another tract of land per a written agreement. However, Hickman Kile's son wrote the deed for the tracts of land to Archibald, which contained 15 to 20 acres more than the agreement stated. The plaintiffs did not realize the discrepancy until after they registered the deed. The plaintiffs sought correction of the deed in accordance with the original agreement.

In question is the title to land formerly owned by Jane C. and John W. Hewghly, the parents of the plaintiffs. Jane C. was the owner of 3/4 of said land and John W. the owner of 1/4. However, when the title was made, it was made entirely to John W. Said tract of land is described as being situated in the 25th district of Wilson County.

Three plaintiffs separately sued Defendant over title to land a portion of which each had purchased allegedly without knowledge of a lien on the land, which lien originally was held by Kessee before he died. The court consolidated the 3 cases. Other non-parties listed: H.H. Poston, Jerry Metcalf, Z.M. Taylor. Land at issue was located in suburbs of Clarksville.

Daniel Tatum died owning 1000 acres via state grant #16815 & 3 sons, Jesse Rosser Tatum (died w/o issue), Jonathan, & def. James, & 1 daughter, plaintiff Diana Moore. Wife Margaret died. Jonathan & Daniel's brother Edward sold the land to John B. Groves. Groves sold it to A.O.P. Nicholson & A.V. Brown, and to settle Brown's estate, it was sold to Medora Dortch, who sold it to def. Warner Iron. Dispute: Jonathan only had 1/3 interest & Edward had no interest. Daniel's children who died: Susan, Price.

View Entry 1886 J. M. Mayes & Lucius Frierson, guardians of minor heirs of A.M. Morgan, dec. v. Peter Hughes (col.) Davidson Land and Title Dispute

W.C. Hurt, admr. of A.M. Morgan, dec., sold to Hughes Lots 25, 26 & 28 in Holts Addition to Nashville, fronting Hamilton Street, on which Hughes intended to build "cheap houses," in exchange for 6 notes totaling $1,100. Hurt finished admin. & died. Hughes didn't pay, believing Hurt might not have good title to the lots when he conveyed them. Notes passed to minor heirs & guardians sued. Morgan left widow Sallie H. Morgan (Hurt was Sallie's dad) & children Calvin A., Andrew P., & Sallie F. Morgan.

Plaintiff never received "one cent" of her grandfather's estate, and was forced through threat of life to comply with Vinson's gambling losses, which included the entire estate of her paternal grandfather, George Luttrell, who willed Mary and her sister, Texas, part of his real and personal estate. Susie Proffitt was the wife of David Proffitt. She stated that David Proffitt abandoned her and their two children. Mr. Proffitt owned a tract of land that was condemned. The land was sold by the county to W. H. Large. Mrs. Proffitt claimed that the "conveyance by the Sheriff of Cocke County to W. H. Large is void because at the time the levy was made she was actually occupying said land as a homestead."
