William L. Marks elected constable of Giles County 3/1880. He executed his official bond with Lewis B. Marks and Samuel S. Williamson as sureties. Marks died insolvent. Complainants placed claims for collection in his hands 1880, 1881. Marks died without making any settlement of the business. Official records in the county court destroyed during the war. Claimants filed this bill in the Chancery Court against the sureties to hold them liable. The sureties denied the validity of bond and their liability. |
