Martin, as County tax assessor and collector, assessed $28 in taxes for a piece of land in Meigs County against Hutsell. When Hutsell did not pay it, Martin issued a ditress warrant to collect the amount. Hutsell claimed that the land was not his and petitioned the court to prevent taxation and action against him regarding the property tax. |

Thomas Dowell conveyed about 100 acres to the defendant shortly before his death for $400. Muncy claimed that the $400 was not paid, which the hiers and he discovered after Thomas' death. Muncy requested payment be enforced with the sale of the land. |

The plaintiffs were the sureties for the prior Scott County tax collector, John Thompson, and the current Riley Long. They claim that Long, who was charged with recovering taxes that Thompson defaulted on, had collected more than the balance owed by the surieties and prior judgments against them should be set aside. |

The plaintiff previously obtained a judgment in the case of Henry Chaffield v. J.Y. Cooper for the sum of $2,500 and costs. The sum as paid to N. Baxter as the Clerk of Court. When asked for the money, N. Baxter paid only $500, but refused to execute a note from the remaining sum. The plaintiff filed the bill to compel the defendant to deliver the remaining sum from the judgment. |

Strange was hospital steward who treated him after shot. Strange & David McRoberts in war with Riggins, all in H Company, Col. Walker's regiment, Gen. Cheatham division commander. Pickard inappropriately refused Riggins' application for pension under Gen. Assembly Acts of 1883 & 1887. |
