Instead of selling the quinine, the defendant negligently and carelessly sold him two unlabeled bottles of a poisonous drug. The plaintiff's husband, John Sanders, took the drug and became poisoned, dying a few hours later. Plaintiff sued for damages in the sum of $10,000. |

Plaintiff Gamble sued the defendant company for damages for injuries sustained while he was working for the defendant as a "helper" around a crane that struck the plaintiff in the head, shoulder, and ankle. Gamble said the wheel of the crane falling was the result of negligance on the part of the defendant who failed to properly inspect and maintain it. Exhibits include three hand-drawn diagrams that show the crane, its wheels, and its shafts. |

The conductor then grossly insulted and maliciously assaulted the plaintiff with a pistol. |

The engineer urged Patty to get upon the engine with him for the purpose of showing Patty his skill at controlling the engine. Another employee neglected to close a switch and when the engine with Patty on it arrived at the open switch section of the tract, he and the engine were derailed and crashed into another train, killing Patty. |
