Complaintant was the son of the defendant, both men went in to purchase a plot of land in "Haslams Plan" on Warren St. Defendant asserted he only wanted the right to quarry for rock on the plot, and afterward would give his share to plaintiff. Plaintiff had recently found his father did not put the deed in both of their names nor signed the land over after quarrying was complete. Complaintant has lived in a house on the plot for 6 years. |

Frank Gibson, Salina Gibson, and William and Darcus Twiman, all persons of color and Kentucky residents complained that Samuel Gibson died intestate in January 1888, leaving a tract of land in Clairborne County, Tennessee. Samuel's widow Salina (Selina) was entitled to a dower's share; Frank Gibson and Darcus Twiman were the owners in fee. It was said Henry Gibson illegally occupied land. Stories date to antebellum times and contain informative testimony on slave marriage. |

Turner complained that Rains took possession of land to which Turner was the rightful owner and used it, appropriating the rents and profits. Turner claimed that by the See also ET Box 2052. defendant setting up some sort of pretend title to the land, this put a cloud upon the title complainant held under a connected title from a grant from the state of Tennessee. |
