Taylor delivered 16,000 feet of logs to the bank of the TN River at T. F. Robinson’s landing for Heyser Lumber Co. He told them they had arrived and to go pick them up. The Co. waited too long and 9,000 feet of the logs were washed away by high water. Taylor argued that he is owed a balance on the logs that he delivered.

This case concerns a disagreement over how much money is owed to a moving company for actually moving four houses to another site; a fifth house proved too large to move, so the company purchased it from him. The disagreement seems to concern the cost of some repair and finishing work that was added to the cost of the houses, and the determination of the final balance once that work was added in.

Additional defendants: C. W. Gibson, wife of R. Gibson and J. F. Todd.

J. Frankland purchased goods from the Ellinger Co. The goods were not to the standars of Frankland and thus they sent the goods back. Ellinger claimed they never recived the goods back and also Ellinger claimed that Frankland Co. still owed a sum on their account.

Plaintiff hired the defendants to haul logs to his saw mill located in "Corn Branch Cove," in Grundy County, Tennessee. As part of their agreement the plaintiff agreed to endorse a note for the defendants to purchase a team of oxen to haul the logs. Defendants broke their contract with the plaintiff and took the purchased oxen to haul logs in another area. Plaintiff was sued on the note and brought this suit to collect the balance owed by the defendants.

Folder includes legal briefs. Plaintiff claims compensation for brokerage and commission in effecting a 10-year lease for them, and asks for $4800 at $40 per month for 10 years. Defendants claim that they never employed plaintiff for this purpose, that they supposed he was in the employ of the property owner, and that they had no idea he expected them to pay him.

Newton Belcher, son of J. R. Belcher, brought suit against the defendant as admr. of his father's estate seeking compensation for care provided during the last five years of his father's life.

In 1889 plaintiffs in error entered into an agreement with the defendant in error to pay to her $166 over 4 years for value received. Defendant in error complained that said debt was due and unpaid and sued to collect. This is one of several cases brought against R. O and A. K. Gleaves for debt.

J. T. Hinton is identified as the surviving partner in the firm Stanley & Hinton, undertakers. The firm is seeking to collect an unpaid debt for embalming and other funeral expenses from the son of the deceased. Folder includes legal briefs.

Sam Folwell's minor daughter Mamie Folwell charged clothes to an account in her father's name with the J.S. Menken Co. Her father refused to pay the balance as he stated his daughter had plenty of clothes and the charges were made without his knowledge

Case was to recover a balance on a subscription to a railroad. The name of the defendant was on an agreement that stated $100.00 was owed for capitol stock of the company. A contract was written for grading the road. Defendant paid the agent the first amount but not since the payment the when the case went to court. 2 folders.

Defendant in error sold and delivered pumps and attachments to the plaintiff in error. Defendant complained of debt due by account and sued for payment. Plaintiff claimed that he was a minor (under 21 years of age) and that the goods were actually purchased by and for his father S. W. Parman who ran a well boring-machine.
