Plaintiff sued defendant for $1999 for personal injuries. On 20 Dec. 1898, while driving along a public road that crossed defendant's line of railway, he found railroad crossing blocked by train. While he was waiting for the train to move his horses were frightened by the whistle of a second train that he had not been able to see because his view was obstructed by the other train. Plaintiff injured when thrown from his vehicle & into a barbed wire fence.

Debt due by note under $1,000.

Cover is missing. Plaintiff had no contract to work for this company, but felt that a series of letters before he was hired made it clear that he was to be employed for a year. When he was laid off in February, effective March 1, he sued the company.
