In June 1906 defendant purchased a thrasher from plaintiff for sum of $662 for which he executed 5 promissory notes. Plaintiff now sues to recover $833.64 which includes interest & attorneys fees. Plaintiff has also learned that defendant owns land valued at $4000, and asks court to levy on it with a portion of the proceeds from the sale to be used to pay the debt. Roddy argues that thrasher did not perform to his expectations so he ceased to use it. |

Not a complete case -- this is a brief written by the Bramham's attorney. Defendants are accused of shooting and killing Joe Phillips near Reelfoot Lake. A witness's testimony says that Phillips, Raymond Burpole, and Will Gray were running away from the Bramhams' house after stealing their liquor, and that the Bramhams were shooting at them from a distance. Burpole said he shot Phillips by accident himself while shooting at the Bramhams. |
