J. W. Wilkerson, the Marshal of Lenoir City asked John Glass to purchase whiskey from the Pla. in error in an attempt to see if he was illegally selling whiskey. Wilkerson succeeded in purchasing the whiskey and received a shipment several days later. Hix argues that Wilkerson made him believe the whiskey was for a sick relative and that he sold it to him out of kindness. Casefile includes a price list for various amounts and types of whiskey. The Whiskey in question was produced by the R. M. Rose Co. |
