Concerns Lot 24, Wellfor Place Subdivision. Plaintiffs purchased lot from defendant, then discovered lot had excessive fill material, causing them to spend extra money to allow a house to be built. Sued for $291.10, plus interest.

Complainant accuses city of buying its electric light plant. City denies there ever was a contract it was authorized to sign. Number of people who were deposed too numerous to name. Additional plaintiffs: Hugh McCarten ( husband of Nellie). Additional defendants: Illinois Central Railroad Company. Defendants contracted to carry and deliver to Mrs. McCarten and her husband certain goods, household furniture, wares and chattel in good condition. The goods were transported from Greenville, MS to Memphis, TN. When the property arrived it was greatly damaged and broken up. Plaintiffs are asking for $1000.00 in damages.
