Cora Distretti's husband Louis died on December 6, 1926. They had a life insurance policy in place with the defendant but the defendant refused to pay the whole amount of the policy after his death. Plaintiff sued for $4000, the value stated of the policy. Louis had been shot by two "bandits" that had robbed a store he owned and died from the wounds. Exhibits that are supposed to be attached to pages 63 and 64 are missing. |

The land however was encumbered by a 1st deed of trust executed by Edwards to the Federal Land Bank of Louisville and 2nd deed to The Farmers Exchange Bank of Union City. |

3 folders. E. L. White Sr. died, as a result of his injuries, before the case went to trial and his widow, Mrs. Pattie White, continued the suit "for her benefit and for the benefit of the children." Personal injuries were the result of a car accident that happened on October 19, 1926, "about seven or eight miles west of Savannah, Tenn." Ernest R. White's wife, Mrs. Ruby White, was said to be driving the car when the accident occurred. |

Dixon was the Hardin County Sherriff. Gatlin was under contract with US government to transport mail from Cornith MS to Savanah TN. Gatlin also carried passengers in a Reo bus. Hardin County issued a distress warrant stating that Gatlin had not taken out a proper license to carry passengers. Gatlin claimed that carrying passengers into Shiloh National Military Park was under the jurisdiction of the US government therefore he was not required to have a license through Hardin County. |

One note was for $253.61 and the other note was for $218.75. |

The January 11, 1927, edition of the Dyersburg "State Gazette" newspaper is included as evidence. |
