Blanche Taylor was 15-year-old daughter of William Taylor when she met Riggs on a train. He was 25. Letters were exchanged between them. In one, Riggs proposed marriage, and she accepted. State argues that he enticed her for purpose of prostitution and the proposal was a device to gratify his lust. Their plan was to go to Kentucky to be married then on to Canada. Riggs, Wallace, and one Duncan carried Blanche away; Wallace later "proceeded to carnally know her twice." Additional part of case in ET 1392. |
