Addtl dfnts: C. A. Thomas and W. C. Hickman. White lost a ruling against him by dfnts. on a breach of contract charge. All parties agreed to sell the city of Jackson a plot of land for the construction of a road. White agreed to pay $400 at the end of two years from the date of sale Dfnts. claimed lot was unincumbered, which was untrue -lot was held by a lien and as of court date had not been turned into a road. White sought a retraction of first ruling based on these facts.

View Entry 1930 Franklin Carriage Co., et al. v. City of Jackson (TN) Madison Sabbath Violation

Addtl pltfs.: A. H. Askew; Louis Cook; J. J. Elvert, doing business under the name of 333 Tire & Vulcanizing Co.; John H. Johnson & Sons, a partnership of Neil Johnson & Norment Johnson; and Bryan Lyle, doing business under the name of American Gas & Oil Co. Addtl dfnts: Andrew Taylor, Chief of Police - Jackson; and R. L. Balch, Recorder of Jackson. Pltfs. were arrested for operating their businesses on Sundays and sued to prove the law unconstitutional, invalid, and void.

View Entry 1930 Hall Grocery Co. v. R. L. Wall Madison Damages

Wall sued Hall Grocery Co. for damages after an automobile accident at the intersection of Campbell and Arlington in Jackson. Wall was riding in a car going north on Campbell, when a truck owned by Hall and driven by an agent, going westerly on Arlington, struck the car and sent it into a telephone pole. Wall was injured and had to miss work. Sued for damages. Exhibits include 2oversize blueprint/map of showing intersection of Arlington Ave. & Campbell St. in M-17-20. 3 folders.
