Wall sued Hall Grocery Co. for damages after an automobile accident at the intersection of Campbell and Arlington in Jackson. Wall was riding in a car going north on Campbell, when a truck owned by Hall and driven by an agent, going westerly on Arlington, struck the car and sent it into a telephone pole. They moved to Paris, TN and lived as man and wife until February 21, 1921 when Annie left saying she was going to her mother's and never returned. Shortly after leaving, Annie Clark filed for divorce in the Chancery Court. Mr. Clark had in his custody their 12 year old boy. Houston Clark sought a divorce on grounds of abandonment. |

Blanche Taylor was 15-year-old daughter of William Taylor when she met Riggs on a train. He was 25. Letters were exchanged between them. In one, Riggs proposed marriage, and she accepted. State argues that he enticed her for purpose of prostitution and the proposal was a device to gratify his lust. Their plan was to go to Kentucky to be married then on to Canada. Riggs, Wallace, and one Duncan carried Blanche away; Wallace later "proceeded to carnally know her twice." Additional part of case in ET 1392. |

Plaintiffs claimed that Memphis and the State widened Poplar Avenue, taking a 25 foot wide strip of their lot without compensation to them for the land. Plaintiffs also claimed that some of their plants were destroyed in the process of constructing the road. Housed in 2 folders. |

The case stated that the Deputy Sheriff of Shelby County had a search warrant for a "One-story frame pig stand and tourists cottages…being the premises occupied by Bungalow City Tourist Camp." While no intoxicating liquor was found in the pig stand or cottages, the deputy sheriff did find "29 pints of white corn whiskey and 12 pints of red corn whiskey" in a "field about 75 or 100 feet south of the premises." Hoffman operated the tourist camp with his wife on property rented from James Carrigan. |

Skeen sued to recover $25,000 in damages resulting in death after May struck Hamlett on Summer Ave. between Hillcrest and Malcom Streets in Memphis on May 25, 1927. Hamlett, as a result of the injuries sustained, was rendered unconscious, received bruises cuts, and lacerations to his body, paralyzed his body, and caused "as a direct and proximate result his mind became deranged". Hamlett died on July 8, 1927 from said injuries. Case asserted a woman was driving at the time, but is not named in the suit. |
