Nora was the widow of Vince Hawk, an employee of the East TN Light and Power Co. who dug ditches at $18 per week. While at work on July 2, Vince became overheated and overworked, which caused him to be stricken with apoplexy and died the next day. Plaintiff suing for Workmen's Compensation for herself and their 18 month old child. |

Additional defendants: Henry Barker and Lucille Barker Morrison. Defendants leased a tract of land to Merman for $50 a month. Merman had paid off every month and asked if rent could be dropped to $35 a month temporarily due to the Depression, which J.M. Barker Jr. agreed to. He later informed Pla. that he rented property to someone else even when Pla. offered to pay the $120 unpaid balance. Pla. sought certiorari against def. for possession of land from their earlier unlawful detainer case. |

The plaintiff and Tina Anderson, formerly Wood and the daughter of the defendant, were legally married in 1920. Later the defendant went to their home and through improper motives and false remarks caused his wife to leave him. Plaintiff believes it was solely the defendant's actions that cause his wife to become dissatisfied with him and broke up their home, telling T. Anderson to go out with other men and taking their children to another town. Plaintiff sued for $25,000 in damages. |

Incomplete case. Briefs only. Additional def.: Charles Hicks. Sarah Goodman, mother of Pauline Goodman, sued for damages for fatal personal injury on Halloween night 1929. Pauline was riding on the running board of an automobile when defendant's car hit it, which threw Pauline to the ground, hitting her head, and inflicted injuries from which she suffered until July 1930, when she died. Court had ruled in favor of defendants and plaintiff had appealed. |
