Plaintiff was arrested on the 4th of July while carrying home brewed alcohol from his car into his restaurant. The arresting officer found 72 bottles of what appeared to be home brewed alcohol. The contents of the bottles were never analyzed. Plaintiff's restaurant is described as being in the City of Athens in the Wilson building near the L. & N. Depot. |

Plaintiff claims his daughter suffered serious injury as a result of the defendant’s negligence and is seeking damages. |

Lea sued the Knoxville News Sentinel for libel to his damage $100,000. Lea was a publisher for the Nashville Tennessean and President of Southern Publishers Inc. Lea sued the newspaper for accusing him of robbing the public by using his influence as a corrupt political boss to control acts of public officials for his own financial gain. Plaintiff worked for the railroad and was drafted into the US Army and according to the contracts, rules & regulations by defendant all employees entering the services would be allowed to return to their jobs along with full seniority. McClure sued for his seniority ranking to which he was entitled to according to the contract. Exhibits include bylaws, correspondence, rules & regulations, magazine, etc. 6 folders.
