Carr sued the insurance company to recover on his policy. Carr was a physician stationed at Elizabethton. While Carr's policy was in effect, Carr became paralyzed in his feet, legs, and hands. Defendant paid him $479.92-the amount due him for March to May 1930. Defendant refused to make further payments that plaintiff was entitled to for May to September 1930. Plaintiff suing for $1826.61. Court ruled in pla. Favor for $1350 and an additional $100 per month as long as he was totally disabled. |

Defendant is the administrator of the estate of W. F. Newson (dec'd). In 1928, A. A. Johnson conveyed to the plaintiff and the deceased, her husband, a farm in said county. The deceased planted over 10,000 trees and had over 20,000 pounds of hay from the property. The deed entitles the plaintiff to sole ownership of the farm upon her husband's death, but believes she is exempt from his debts. Filed suit to declare her rights and to deny the defendant as a nursery handler rights to profits from the trees. |

In 1926, the plaintiff's barn caught fire and it and all its contents were destroyed. From the proof of loss, the plaintiff claims that $500 should be secured on the barn, but the defendant refuses to settle with the plaintiff, even after several attempts. Plaintiff filed to recover the $500 covered by his policy. |

Madison sued the Southern Surety Company for non-payment of a $1000 accident policy. Madison's husband, J. M. Madison, was shot and killed on September 24, 1929, by George White. She claimed the policy should cover accidental gun shot wounds. The insurance company claimed the shooting was intentional. George White and J. M. Madison are both described as "negro" in the case materials. |

Jesse Kivett had owned a portion of said farm for 20 years without any issue.
