Mrs. Z.E. Hall was the owner subject to conditional sale contract held by Union Trust Bank of Bristol, and was entitled to the immediate possession of a 1928 Reo Flying Cloud Coupe, which was being held by the defendant. She was sued for replevin for the said vehicle, which was worth $1000. Def ran a gambling house where her husband lost $309.75 and a check of $200, car was given to secure payment of check. Mrs. Hall suing to get car back, which belonged to her. 2 folders.

View Entry 1931 Mrs. Myrtle Johnson v. Phillip Dickinson and Ceylon Frazer Shelby Replevin

Plaintiff sued to have notes payable returned to her that she had given to the defendants to examine as a potential part of a real estate transaction. The real estate transaction did not occur and defendants had failed to return the notes to her.

View Entry 1931 R. E. McClary v. John Alford & R. T. Nicholson Polk Replevin

McClary was elected road commissioner for the first district of Polk county in 1929 for term of 2 years. Alford claimed he was road commissioner by action of court in August 1930 in which plaintifff was removed and Alford was elected in his place. Plaintiff charged he never received notice of court proceeding. He was suing for possession of road machinery, which was unlawfully detained from him. Nicholson, justice of the peace, had issued a replevin on said machinery, which plaintiff declared void.
