Additional defendant: G.M. Rogers. Lay sued for #25,000 damages. Virginia Lay was an 8 year old girl who was sent to Gibson's office, who was a physician, to be examined but not operated on. Gibson determined that her tonsils needed to be removed. Gibson forcibly and unlawfully operated on her in a cruel manner, cut an artery in her throat, and failed to stop the bleeding and instead laid her flat on a bed where she choked on her blood while still unconscious, dying when he later tried to save her. |
