Addtl dfnts: W. S. Knight - sheriff Shelby Co., Tom Keisker - Deputy Sheriff Shelby Co., and John J. McNamara - Justice of the Peace Shelby Co. After taking out a loan with dfnt., pltf. filed for bankruptcy, yet still had to pay back dfnt. Although he defaulted on some payments, pltf. worked a new agreement with dfnt., eventually paying off his debts. Unknown to him, however, dfnt. fraudulently confessed judgement against pltf. in court for $110, and won wage garnishment, served by county officials. |

A collateral check was made by the plaintiff for $2,225 to ensure at least a three month stay. After the time period, she requested the check be put into her account, but the defendant refused unless she signed a joint contract with her husband, making her lose her rights to the money. They threatened to appropriate the check if she refused. |
