Collier), pltfs. donated a strip of land 100ft.x4000ft. of their property along Trezevant Ave. (East Parkway) from the south line of Morningside Park to Central Ave. Land was for the sole and expressed purpose of constructing a road, any other purpose would default the gift and return ownership to heirs. This is an injuction bill….Carl Morrison traded his truck toward the purchase of another truck at Gaylon Motor Co. His original truck had a bolster on it for hauling that was to removed by Gaylon Motor Co. and returned to him. Gaylon Motor Co. did not remove the said bolster and instead sold Morrison's original truck to another person with the bolster as part of the deal…….This case is divided into two folder in New Box #1307 (East TN)

View Entry 1931 Frank A. Eaton v. Hermitage Loan Co., et al. Shelby Injunction

Addtl dfnts: W. S. Knight - sheriff Shelby Co., Tom Keisker - Deputy Sheriff Shelby Co., and John J. McNamara - Justice of the Peace Shelby Co. After taking out a loan with dfnt., pltf. filed for bankruptcy, yet still had to pay back dfnt. Although he defaulted on some payments, pltf. worked a new agreement with dfnt., eventually paying off his debts. Unknown to him, however, dfnt. fraudulently confessed judgement against pltf. in court for $110, and won wage garnishment, served by county officials.

Additional material in ET 1087. In 1929, the plaintiff deposited $3,000 into a savings account with the defendant. A collateral check was made by the plaintiff for $2,225 to ensure at least a three month stay. After the time period, she requested the check be put into her account, but the defendant refused unless she signed a joint contract with her husband, making her lose her rights to the money. They threatened to appropriate the check if she refused.

Def. is the Morgan County Sheriff who is attempting to levy an execution on Pla.'s property to satisfy the debt. Pla. is seeking an injunction. Also involved are the firm of Young, Wilkerson and Owens and the Bank of Jamestown.

Addtl pltfs: T. G. Burch and Russell Swearington. Hamp Taylor, mayor; Ransom Gravette, marshal. Rogers sued to declare a law preventing all forms of pool from being played in said city limits be ruled void. After securing state and county licensure to operate a pool room, pltfs. were told by dfnts. of the city law. Pltf.'s legal rep. said they had a case, so it went to court. Found tied with an Ontario Paper Co. v. Nashville Publishing Co. file (in WT2121). See WT2098 for rest of that case.
