Annie Church worked for the Bemberg Plant and was being carried in passenger car when a large truck belonging to the defendant ran a red light and hit the car, inflicting her with permanent injuries to her head, face, and body. |

Moreland charged def. (election commissioners) with fraudulently altering the returns from the election in order to elect W.J. Fair, another candidate. Moreland sought mandamus to compel the def. to recount and certify the true result. |

Carr sued the insurance company to recover on his policy. Carr was a physician stationed at Elizabethton. While Carr's policy was in effect, Carr became paralyzed in his feet, legs, and hands. Defendant paid him $479.92-the amount due him for March to May 1930. Defendant refused to make further payments that plaintiff was entitled to for May to September 1930. Plaintiff suing for $1826.61. Court ruled in pla. Favor for $1350 and an additional $100 per month as long as he was totally disabled. |

Original bill was filed when a breach of contract by N. A. Lackey occurred in 1927. The defendants bound themselves in a contract to furnish the plaintiffs' with $5,000 worth of building material and lumber and to use their best efforts to obtain a loan on their property if they didn't have the funds to pay the defendants when building was complete. The plaintiffs later failed to carry out their terms of the contract by paying 15% of the material not used, or $750. |

Additional defendant: Lon Hendrickson. Wood was the sole heir and daughter of Singleton. Wood sued to contest Singleton's will, charging that she was not of sound mind and was influenced to make the will by Reverend French Wampler. Court ruled in favor of Wood and declared said will as not the will of Singleton. Dungan et al. moved for a new trial, were overruled, and then appealed. 2 folders. |

Klotz sued the defendant for $50,000 damages. Defendant was a German corporation operating out of Elizabethton who manufactured rayon. Klotz was employed as an engineer to supervise the installation of machinery and improve manufacture of product. Pla. Was falsely accused by def. of being a commercial spy, stealing and selling valuable manufacturing secrets. Pla. Suing def. for damage to his home, his good name, and his reputation and for libel-making him unable to find employment. 2 folders. |
