Bryant (an employee of def.), had travelled to mountains of North Carolina, 25 miles away, to talk to a man named McClure in order for him to sign a right of way giving the def. authority to construct a power line over and across McClure's property. While on said trip, he was found dead on the side of the highway from an injury to his head. Bryant suing for Workmen's Compensation for 30% of his weekly wage for a period of 400 weeks. |

Court dismissed divorce but awarded alimony & custody to Elizabeth, who lived in Atlanta. Discovering Elizabeth's lifestyle (drinking, bootlegging, gambling), Stewart filed new action; court took away alimony, gave custody of Betty to Stewart, who lived w/his mom in Greeneville, TN. Add. Plaintiff: Kate Smoker. Action brought against the defendant for $5,000 as damages alleged to have arisen from the construction and operation of a sewage disposal plant by the defendant. The plaintiffs own a tract of land adjacent to the corporate limits of the town with a stream running through it. The plant used the same stream water and polluted it so it was unfit for domestic use as raw sewage was drained into it. States the plant has created a public nuisance and injurious to the citizens. |
