Ruth Whittemore sued Otis Brothers Furniture Company for $5000 damages. Defendant was the owner of a retail installment furniture house. Pla. sued def. whose agent entered her house while she was at work and took her living room furniture, causing her financial damage and loss to her credit standing and violated her right of privacy as well as humiliated her in front of the neighborhood. She charged that she did not buy said furniture from the defendant and so had no right to take it. |

Hardin sued Nelson for $2500 damages caused by negligent driving. Hardin was crossing Rossville Boulevard, when the defendant carelessly and negligently ran his car into Hardin. Hardin suffered from painful lacerations and a shock to his nervous system, which prevented him from working. Hardin alleged that Nelson was driving over the speed limit and on the left side of the street. Court ruled in Hardin's favor for $2200 damages. |

In 1930, the plaintiff was an agent of the defendant and had been for many years, writing insurance policies and collecting premiums. He made a weekly deposit of $2.00 to the defendant, intended to hold them safe from any misappropriation of money from premiums. When the plaintiff quit, the defendant had $140 belonging to the plaintiff, to be returned with interest. Plaintiff alleges the defendant falsely composed defamatory libel to prevent the plaintiff from collecting his funds and damaging his name. |

In 1930, the plaintiff was a passenger in one of the defendant's taxi-cabs. The cab operator and agent of the defendant, Jack Day, wrongfully and violently assaulted the plaintiff, striking him over the head with a pistol. The resulting injuries caused the plaintiff to miss work and compile significant medical bills. Plaintiff sued for damages in the sum of $5,000. |

In 1930, the plaintiff was at the bus terminal owned by the defendant when she tripped and fell on a sidewalk that was under construction and at one point had a one foot dip that was unmarked. She fell and injured herself on the concrete and blames the defendant's negligence to mark the height difference. Plaintiff sued for $3,500 in damages. |

He quit the company in March 1931 and now sues for 50% of his average wage for 200 weeks, stating the injury came solely from and out of his employment with the defendant. |

Shortly after arriving Cushman was killed by a dynamite blast that hurled rock into his skull. Cushman was 34 at the time of his death and left his wife and three. Hunter in his capacity of agent of the plaintiff, for which it made a bond by depositing with the company $2 per week out of the collected commissions. On the third visit, the Def. performed an x-ray and found the bone to be broken. According to the Pla., the Def. did not then properly set the broken bones. Pla. is seeking damages. |

Hill sued the City of Chattanooga for $3000 damages. Hill was crossing 6th Avenue at the corner of 34th street when she stepped into a hole which the defendant negligently allowed to remain there. Hill fell to the ground, injuring her left leg, ankle, and knee. Hill alleged that it was dark and she could not see the hole; that she exercised due care and was without fault. Jury ruled in favor of the defendant. Hill moved for new trial, which was overruled, and then appealed. |

The plaintiff was an officer in said county and was performing his duties by standing in an intersection to direct traffic. The defendant was riding in a car he owned and was operated by his employee who failed to stop at the intersection and at a high and negligent rate of speed hit the plaintiff, who had his back to them. He was knocked unconscious and suffered a concussion and other injuries due to the carelessness of the defendant. Suing for $5,000 in damages. |
