Plaintiff was employed by the defendant. In 1930, plaintiff was performing his duties when he went to examine a Frigidaire motor, moving the machine, which left a hole open to the basement. The plaintiff fell into the hole and broke his arm and injured his shoulder and it was permanently impaired and unusable. He quit the company in March 1931 and now sues for 50% of his average wage for 200 weeks, stating the injury came solely from and out of his employment with the defendant. |

Brownlows recovered judgment against Ressler for $430 & for possession of premises at No. 310 Wall Avenue in Knoxville, where proprietorship shoe repair business was located (known as Wall Avenue Shoe Shop). Shop at 1 point operated by Louis Friedman, brother-in-law of Fred Millen, who leased the premises from the Brownlows. Friedman had become indebted to Ressler, who allowed Millen's son Louis to operate the shoe repair shop until debt pd. Dispute over ownership of the shop. |

Harris is sued for damages for personal injuries in the sum of $200 by reason of the defendants care being operated in a reckless, careless, negligent, and unlawful manner in excess of 20 miles per hour and therefore running into the plaintiffs car causing personal and bodily harm. |

Addtl pltf: Lucile Duemler. Addtl dfnts: The Fidelity & Casualty Co. of New York. Pltfs. brought action under the Workmen's Compensation Law of Tennessee. A. J. Bledsoe was killed under the employment of dfnt. and en route to work when he died. Attempting to avoid driving over downed powerlines in a storm, Bledsoe stepped of his truck to remove them and was instantly electrocuted. His mother and sister are pltfs., sought benefits over estranged wife, Rosolie Bushey, and sued for payment from dfnts. |

Hill sued the City of Chattanooga for $3000 damages. Hill was crossing 6th Avenue at the corner of 34th street when she stepped into a hole which the defendant negligently allowed to remain there. Hill fell to the ground, injuring her left leg, ankle, and knee. Hill alleged that it was dark and she could not see the hole; that she exercised due care and was without fault. Jury ruled in favor of the defendant. Hill moved for new trial, which was overruled, and then appealed. |

Additional material in ET 90. In 1929, the plaintiff was driving a car on a public highway when the conductor of a train owned by the defendant negligently ran it against the plaintiff's car. The vehicles struck with violent force and the contents of the train car fell on the plaintiff, including fish plates, spikes, and railroad iron. The plaintiff was greatly injured and sued for $3,000 in damages. |
