Woods was accused of killing Sarah Boyette in the first degree. Only once was dfnt. listed as Ed Woods, col. Witness stated, Boyette was stabbed in two places and beaten so severely her eye had to be sewn back in, her teeth were missing, and the back of her skull busted. Decedent was African American, too. She was last seen in an argument with dfnt., and leaving along the train rails. Her body was found on the tracks with blood over various rail elements. Housed in 2 folders. |

Dfnt. was accused of the premeditated murder, by gun, of "Uncle" Jonnie H. W. Davidson. Rumors in the town asserted Davidson was keeping a house of ill repute and were peddling the services of the three women there. Davidson was shot multiple times, one on the left side, one in the left eye, two in the neck, and one in the face. Davidson was threatened by Mr. Joe Warren the Wednesday before the Saturday on which he was shot, but he believed it to be a bluff. Housed in 4 folders. |
