Pltf. sued for $30,000 in damages after J. T. Mangrum was killed at a right-of-way near Camden Nov. 28, 1931. The nearly four years old decedent had climbed onto the tracks around an underpass where the rail crossed highway No. 1. Pltf. claimed the engine failed to sound the whistle or ring the bell and failed to stop the locomotive in enough time to avoid the accident. Ex mat.: Photos, OS illustration. Found bound with W. W. During the course of his regular work, a conductor employed by the defendant carelessly and without warning started moving the engine the deceased was working on without warning, causing certain parts to crush and mangle the deceased about the head, causing fatal injuries. Plaintiff is the administrator of the estate of his minor child, Rose Brooks Morrison (dec.). Defendant is a partnership comprised of H. C. Harris & J. P. Payne. The plaintiff was driving with the deceased when a work truck owned and operated by an agent of the defendant struck their vehicle, killing his child. The defendant's truck was operating at an unlawful rate of speed and in a negligent manner. Plaintiff sued for damages in the sum of $25,000.00. Appeals are included. See ET 1482. |

Plaintiff is the administrator of the estate of Willie Mathis (dec'd), who was employed by the police authorities to monitor the properties of the defendant companies to prevent trespassing. W. Mathis was talking with others, committing no crime, when Robinson commanded him to put his hands up and Mathis ran, causing Robinson to fire his pistol at him. Suing for $25,000. |

Plaintiff was the widow of Henry Estill who was killed by a Pure Ice truck as he walked across Brainerd Road. Estill suffered for a week until he died. Ruth sued on account of Henry's physical pain and mental anguish and to recover large medical bills. Photographic exhibits (f. 4) document the area of the accident. Plaintiff is the administrator of the estate of John Willard Phillips, a minor (dec'd), who was employed by the defendant as a newsboy. He went in the elevator on their property to an upper floor when he was struck on the head by an abrupt projection of the wall of the elevator shaft, mangling his head and body between the steel frame and woodwork of the elevator and causing him to hang suspended in the shaft by a leg, all while conscious for a time. Plaintiff sued for $25,000 in damages. |

Minor child Virgil Howard Cantrell, 12, was riding in a school bus operated by H. E. Hudson when Hudson stopped, causing the boy to be thrown out the open emergency door. Virgil was said to have suffered great physical pain and anguish; he died a few hours later. Photographs of the bus and road were introduced as evidence. Koontz was the administrator of the late James Koontz, killed by an automobile driven by Fleming. Koontz had been riding in a mail truck when he and the post carrier stopped to give assistance to a wrecked driver. Fleming, said to be driving recklessly, fatally injured Koontz, who was survived by wife Tobitha and children Daisy Kiser, Lucy Phillips, Birt Koontz, Elmer Koontz, Lamer Koontz, and plaintiff Newton Koontz. Damages were asked to recover death-related costs incurred by the family. |

Bean claimed that her husband was working atop a train when it went under a low bridge, causing him to strike beams projecting from the bridge. Defendant is a county judge. I. Marney was married to one Cleve Marney, who was found guilty of cruel and inhuman treatment of the plaintiff and eventually deserted her. She filed for divorce and alimony in a case heard in 1930. C. Marney failed to provide the ordered child support, but the defendant, who presided over the case, failed in his duty to bind C. Marney to an action of the Grand Jury and held the case over with no discretion for the law. |

He was helping load stones onto cars to be crushed as they were pulled up by a cable. The cables were in poor condition and one broke, sending the loaded cart off the track and struck the deceased, crushing him and causing fatal injuries. Plaintiff states the defendant should have known about the weak cables and sued for damages in the sum of $25,000. |
