Grant Young was originally charged alongside Brogan in the rape of Louisa [Eliza/Elisa] Lamb, but his name has been scratched off the title page. Both were sentenced to twenty years in prison. The jury later said that the 20-year penalty was too harsh-- owing to their not realizing a lesser sentence was possible. The case contains descriptive testimony including the victim's. Defendants are accused of raping Miss Inez Richardson, a resident of Spring Place, GA., near Lookout Mountain. Mary Frank Murrah introduce Richardson to Leonard. Murrah was considered an accomplice to the act by aiding and abetting Leonard during the act. The defendants are claiming it was consented. Murrah gave authorities a false name saying it was Granville Mason who assaulted Richardson. |

Virgil Bray indicted for "aiding, abetting and assisting" his brother Steve in the commission of the crime. Grace Wyricks 11 years & 11 months old when crime was committed; Steve & Virgil Bray 14 & 23 respectively. |
