Mrs. Tipton holds Bob Meredith responsible as he loaned his son the car that he was driving when he hit Jake Tipton, although he knew Glen Meredith was intoxicated at the time. Minor child Virgil Howard Cantrell, 12, was riding in a school bus operated by H. E. Hudson when Hudson stopped, causing the boy to be thrown out the open emergency door. Deft. has not paid as its physicians examined Goins after his death & said that it was due to catarrah. Plntff. maintains that his death was due to injuries suffered on the job. Mrs. Goins a widow; her son was the family's sole support. 3 other minor children named in case. |

Mrs. Brown sought to borrow $300 from Florence Watson who agreed to the loan--if Brown would pay $15 a month interest for twelve months. Things went downhill from there. When the Browns did not pay the entire sum by year's end, Watson demanded a $400 note at 10 per cent interest per month. Other plaintiffs: Albert Brown, W. T. Wilson, and Mrs. W. T. Wilson. The Browns and Wilsons charged usury. |

Fleming, said to be driving recklessly, fatally injured Koontz, who was survived by wife Tobitha and children Daisy Kiser, Lucy Phillips, Birt Koontz, Elmer Koontz, Lamer Koontz, and plaintiff Newton Koontz. Damages were asked to recover death-related costs incurred by the family. |

The plaintiff, an infant, was a passenger on one of the defendant's buses for transportation when the driver put the bus at a negligently high speed and collided with another vehicle coming from the opposite direction. The plaintiff was violently thrown from her seat, breaking her nose and disfiguring her face and suffered other injuries that led to the contraction of tuberculosis. Suing for damages in the sum of $20,000. |

A. B. Green, a Polk County Sheriff, noticed Hall standing in front of the Antioch Church near Benton, Tennessee, and observed several people surrounding him. Upon investigation, Green determined that Hall was under the influence of alcohol. Agreeing not to arrest him if he went home, Green allowed Hall to enter his car and drive away. Shortly after, Green heard a crash and found that Hall had run off the road. He was then arrested. |

Bischoff charged defendant with driving their vehicle in a negligent and reckless manner by driving at a high speed and attempting to pass plaintiff on left and hit her car, driving it off the street and into and against parked cars inflicting injuries to plaintiff's head, face, body, arms and legs. Jury ruled in plaintiff's favor for $2000. Citty appealed. 2 folders. |
