Anderson was hired as a laborer during the construction of the post office & court house in Knoxville. He was paid at a rate of 22.5 cents an hour, but said he was doing iron rod work, a job that was paid a higher rate. Anderson sued to be paid the difference of the pay rate. At time of repossession plaintiff had paid defendants $43 & still owed a balance of $93.20. The value of the furniture is now less than the unpaid balance. Plaintiff sued to collect the $43 that she has already paid. |

Defendant originally sued Wilkey for $25,000 damages in the death of her 20-year-old son Reese Mealor. Mealor, a passenger in Wilkey's car, was killed when Wilkey wrecked his car while trying to escape the police during a high speed chase. Part of Wilkey's defense was that Mealor was driving at the time; Wilkey seldom drove because he was handicapped by loss of one eye & right arm. Both men were intoxicated when chase began. Accident took place in Chatham Co., GA near Savannah. |
