Replevin suit brought against Simmons; car taken from him & delivered to A. C. Riddle. After trial & appeal Riddle adjudged the owner of the car. Simmons argued that Gump Investment knew about replevin suit but failed to offer him assistance, thus causing him expense, delay & the loss of his car. |

Jesse and Lloyd were attending a Sunday school meeting with F. H. Sanders. Jesse behaved out of line and Sanders asked him to leave the room. Later, Sanders was walking alone down a road and Lloyd asked what his problem was with Jesse. Sanders and the boys met up several times, until finally the Reeds assaulted Sanders with a large stick, fracturing his skull. Apparently Sanders held a grudge because Jesse gave his daughter gonorrhea and syphilis. |
