James Lisley was the guardian of Sarah Alexander. Isaac and Sarah filed suit against him, his securities, William Bell & wife, & other associated with the estate of Anderson Pursley, of which Isaac was admr. James Lisby sold a tract of land he inherited from the estate to Legg, & Lisby was accused of trover, considering the estate was not settled. An injunction was filed to prevent the sale of the land. |

Isaac bargained with his father Daniel for land in Cocke County, buying it for $1500. After researching the title, Isaac found the land actually belonged to George Click, whom had executed a deed of trust to Howard & Roadman as trustees, securing the land to John Fain, whom Click owed $560. Isaac sued to settle the chain of title and the disputed deed. |

However, the legal description of the land contained in the sheriff's deed to purchaser was defective. Brazleton then sold the land to Hale. This lawsuit revolves around a dispute related to the defective legal description in the sheriff's deed. |

Nance accused Hodges of assaulting him, having "beat, wounded, and ill treated him," inflicting wounds & bruises on his face & eye & other body parts, which altercation took place at Nance's house after Hodges proposed to "adjust a difficulty about some land," which led to Hodges verbally abusing Nance & then striking him. Nance (who was 60-70 yrs old) attempted to defend himself with fire tongs. Venue changed to Sevier County & then to Cocke County. |

Cox owned occupancy of 160 acres in Ocoee District; arranged with def. Marsh (brother-in-law) to enter the land & let Cox have northern 1/2. Marsh did so & got title in his name, while Cox remained (then & now) in occupancy of northern 1/2, title to which Marsh then refused to convey to Cox. Parties arbitrated the matter & arbitrators ruled in Cox's favor, with both parties paying their own costs, but Marsh still refused to convey or to pay his own costs. Hence this suit. |

McCarter executed title bond to Jeremiah Brashears for 75 acres of land on strait fork of Buffalo Creek. Jeremiah assigned his interest to William, & McCarter sold the bond to Shoopman, who got a judgment on it against Jeremiah & William. Dispute over the land & debt owed on the purchase price. Case filed in Campbell County but determined in Knox County. |
