A driver of a Chattanooga Medicine Co. delivery truck had a head on collision with a motorcyclist. The truck made a right turn at an intersection and the motorcyclist ran into the truck. Brannon sued for $20,000 in damages for the injuries he sustained when hit by the truck. The accident caused two compound fractures on Brannon's left, and once it healed his legs were different lengths. Both Pl and Def accused the other of speeding and driving recklessly. Newport, both Marlers & Dr. J. N. Higgenbotham. Affidavits: Sam H. Ford & Joe Lowery. Charlie Nelson, "colored," worked at a filling station on Frazier Street, and was running out of the Shop Easy store when he was hit. |

Johnson brought suit against the railroad for damages to his automobile and for personal injuries received in a crossing accident in the village of Red Bank. He charged that he was injured because of the railroad's negligence in operating the train and that the train did not signal its approach to the crossing. Johnson's doctor testified to the severity of Johnson's injuries. |

Plaintiff Gamble sued the defendant company for damages for injuries sustained while he was working for the defendant as a "helper" around a crane that struck the plaintiff in the head, shoulder, and ankle. Gamble said the wheel of the crane falling was the result of negligance on the part of the defendant who failed to properly inspect and maintain it. Exhibits include three hand-drawn diagrams that show the crane, its wheels, and its shafts. |

Plaintiff was employed by the defendant. In 1930, plaintiff was performing his duties when he went to examine a Frigidaire motor, moving the machine, which left a hole open to the basement. The plaintiff fell into the hole and broke his arm and injured his shoulder and it was permanently impaired and unusable. He quit the company in March 1931 and now sues for 50% of his average wage for 200 weeks, stating the injury came solely from and out of his employment with the defendant. |

Plaintiff charges negligence on railway's part. Perhaps of interest is a passage explaining why poor people picked up coal and wood along the tracks. Other defendants: Alabama Great Southern Railroad Co., Southern Railway Co., and Belt Railway of Chattanooga. Other plaintiffs not named. |
