Eula Jones was arrested for assault and battery and taken before J. B. Parker, Justice of the Peace. Parker fined Jones $500 and costs. Jones did not pay and Parker issued a mittimus to Jeff Yarbrough, constable of the 12th Civil District of Lauderdale County, to place Jones in the county jail until the fine was paid. Jones claims Parker is not a Justice of the Peace or rightful Magistrate and charges that he is being unlawfully deprived of his liberty. |
