Partin was sentenced to 2 years. While in prison, he argued for a new trial based on his accusation that it was W. F. Warden who attacked him and provoked the fight. Partin claimed that he was defending himself. Witnesses: Ludie Herdon (?), E. J. Houston, William Lavery, Joe Fuller, S. W. Snider, Gat Burchet (?), Dr. R. M. Brown (?), Millie Wilson (colored), and Thomas Hays. 2 brads not removed. Several sheets of browned pulp paper are fragile. |

Bingham was accused of shooting and injuring Carmon Montgomery in the abdomen. Montgomery testified he went to Buster Bingham's looking for whiskey, but Buster was not home, so he left and headed to his grandmother's but was shot by dfnt. along the way. One shot grazing his neck, another hitting and lodging in his abdomen, and two missing. Connected to State v. Buster Bingham in WT2083. |

Hickerson was accused of the felonious assault of one Jimmie Sims. At a party at the home of J. J. Sims, a dropped coin led to an argument that ended when Hickerson supposedly used a razor or other sharp object to cut Jimmie Sims across the face leaving a deep cut and eventual scar. Hickerson claimed self-defense, State claimed it was an unprovoked attack. |

Bingham was accused of the felonious assault of one Orville Montgomery. Montgomery, the prosecutor, gathered a group of friends and family to guard some beer which had been found on dfnt.'s property. Bingham opened fire on the group, but did not hit any. Earlier in the day, one Carmon Montgomery had been shot. Connected to State v. Floyd Bingham WT2083. |

Meddie Nobbs is the victim. She testified that she was 17 at the time of the trial and lived near Sardis, Tenn., with her parents. She stated that she lived in Decatur County on land owned by Laster in 1918. Nobbs stated that Laster was her uncle as he was married to her mother's sister. Meddie Nobbs' 14 year old sister, Minnie Lee Nobbs, also testified at the trial as well as Meddie's mother, Mrs. Arch Nobbs. |
