View Entry | 1875 | State v. James Few | Humphreys | Assault and Battery |
In 1873 Few allegedly assaulted John D. Holland, only twelve years old at the time. Holland lived with Few for 3 years. One day Holland had some neighborhood boys over & one of them, Lawrence Donegan stole money out of Few's pocketbook. Few braided 3 switches from a peach tree, then hung Holland upside down from the tree & beat him until he was covered in bruises, leaving him hanging when he was done. Few accused him of stealing, demanding he return the money. |
