The case involves miscegenation: The Travis family accused John Vandyke (white) of raping their sister Cora, who gave birth to his child. |

Frazier is accused of assault with intent to commit murder for holding a six-year-old girl over a blazing fire until she was terribly burned over her entire back. One accusation is that he burned her to conceal the fact that he had already burned one of his newborn twins to death (he says it was the after-birth); another is that he was angry when she didn't bring him a needle he had asked for; another is that she slipped and fell backwards into the fire. |
