Belmont Candy Company contracted with Evans to hire him as a traveling salesman. Due to the start of the war and that Evans was in new territory, his sales did not meet the companies expectations. The company reduced the amount they paid him; however, the contract "did not require him to sell any quantity or value of goods but obligated him to devote his whole time and energy exclusively to the interests of the candy company and there is no claim that he failed." |

Bland discharged in March 1894 as business worsened. Sued for $352.40 in back salary, maintained his contract with plaintiff stipulated more advance notice prior to dismissal. Plaintiff maintained Bland was paid by the month & there was never a contract. |

Plaintiffs- E. D. Thompson, J. M. Thompson, and Frank Thompson, sued the defendant S. B. Anderson for damages for breach of his covenants contained in a land deed conveying certain lands in Crittenden Co., Ark. The defendants said the deed upon which is charged with having been guilty of a breach of warranty, conveyed said property belonging to the defendant and his wife, Achsah B. Anderson, and to the Anderson-Tully Co., a corporation. Court decision appealed. |
