Per contract, Smithson threshed wheat crop for Fleming on Mrs. Reaves' farm, to be paid when wheat sold, which it was to grain dealer Y. M. Rizer of Franklin, TN. Plummer Walton, who assisted Smithson in running his thresher, asked to be paid. Smithson (who had been sick for 2 mos) sent him to Fleming, who sent him to Rizer, who paid him. Fleming similarly sent Smithson to Rizer to be paid but, ultimately, Smithson wasn't paid. Hence this suit. Smithson lived in Peytonsville. Wm Jones also involved. |

Ready to persecute a suit for Corinne to inherit $12,000 from her deceased father. C. Ready verbally agreed to represent the plaintiffs for $250, but claimed more work was done than expected and charged an additional $250. Plaintiffs claim he failed to credit their account for sums paid, totaling $700. |

Southern Express Co. maintained that it was not notified of the loss until 6 or 7 months after the delivery, rather than the 30 days stipulated on the receipt. |
