Plaintiff sued defendant for $2500 & interest, plus statutory penalty of 25% of the amount due. On Aug. 1935 plaintiff's left hand was accidentally severed above the right wrist by a saw. Doctors were able to reattach the hand, but it is essentially useless. Metropolitan Life has refused to honor the claim, although the plaintiff's policy was paid up & in force at the time the accident occurred.

View Entry 1936 Frank Scott v. Louisville& Nashville Railroad Company Campbell Breach of Contract

Frank Scott is sued the railway co. for $2,221.03 for damages for the breach of a contract. Scott worked for Rex-Jellico Coal Company and entered into a contract with the railway for 34,500 tons of coal.

View Entry 1936 Gump Investment Company v. S. S. Tipton Carter Breach of Contract

Nance Motor Co. repossessed Tipton's Plymouth because of delinquent payment. Gump held the note. Unbeknown to Tipton, his son, Will Tipton, bought the car on the same day it was repossessed. Will wrecked the car & Nance picked it up for repair. When Nance attempted to return the car to Will, he would not take it. Nance then went to defendant to induce him to take the car. He would not. Testimony: Alan Gump, W. J. Flynn, Clay Johnson, O. D. &, L. D. Nance, Mack Pearman, D. E. Ritchie, Nola Ann Sams.

Rasar [also sp. Razor] claimed that O. D. Nance, Nance Motor Co., took a county school claim for $100, gave a credit slip, and refused to honor same. A few staples were not removed because of potential damage to the documents.

View Entry 1936 State v. W. S. Howell Hamblen Breach of Trust

Defendant employed by Pinnacle Mills from 1 Jan. 1927 until June 1930. Charged with fraudulently appropriating $8011 in company monies for his own use. Found guilty of "fraudulent breach of trust". Two bank notes were pinned to page 45 of larger Corporation Record Book.
