Dickerson entered into a contract with Love stating that Love would saw all the logs that Dickerson brought to him between October 16, 1883, and February 1, 1884, at a rate of $3.75 per thousand feet. With Love agreeing to be paid only when the lumber was shipped and sold. Love measured the logs as they were delivered instead of after they had been sawed and tried to charge Dickerson for them. Love brought suit against Dickerson before a justice of the peace and was awarded $338.31. |
