Pink's son Luther was killed while working for Pruden Coal & Coke Co. Luther's stepgrandma Mattie sued to recover compensation for his death. Pink was going to sue for same but, instead, agreed w/Mattie that each would get 50% of such compensation, but Mattie then failed to pay Pink his share; this suit ensued. Mattie was widow of Thomas Hutson, Luther's grandpa, and the Hutson's raised Luther, whose mom died when he was a baby. |
