William M. Jeffries died during the Civil War, leaving his widow, & his daughter Ruth M. McTeer. The widow then married Joseph Miller, & Miller was legally bonded as Ruth's guardian. Ruth rec'd pension from her father's death; Miller handled her money. Ruth married A. J. L. McTeer, however, the court failed to make Miller renew his bond. Miller squandered her money, was ordered to turn repay her, however he was insolvent.
