Plaintiff Joseph Ruohs purchased 22 bonds of $1k each issued by the town of Athens, in order to by shares of $22k in stock in the Nashville & Tellico Railroad Company, meant to mature in 20 years. Ruohs accused the defendants, who comprised the Board of the Mayor and Alderman, of failure to pay interest on bonds and therefore, defaulting on said bonds. The plaintiff further accused some defendants of fraudulently avoiding liability by resigning their official posts. See additional case ET 4a about bonds. |

The case concerns a student whose parents withdrew her from an expensive New York school half-way through the school and did not pay for the second term. The school says all families receive a circular stating that students must pay for the full school year, whether or not they are in attendance for the entire year. |

Plaintiff Nixon & Wester sued the defendant for repayment of a $172 debt for the contract purchase of 5 car loads of corn that the defendant later refused and was resold at a loss, for which Moses was responsible. |
